3/ LINKCell®
LINKCell® fibers utilize safe and environmentally friendly organic solvents to dissolve plant fibers and fermented spider silk proteins. Due to the complementary nature of their structures, the proteins and plant fibers spontaneously undergo mutual cross-linking and fusion. This composite material is solidified into primary fibers through a wet spinning process in a water bath, and then processed through stretching, washing, and other steps to produce spider silk protein fiber materials.
Depending on textile requirements, long filament fibers can be produced directly or cut into short fibers suitable for cotton spinning, wool spinning, and silk spinning processes.
