LINK Silk™
LINK Silk™ fiber is an innovative high-performance protein fiber.Inspired by spiders, LINK SPIDER provides two distinct methods for acquiring LINK Silk™ fiber.
1/microbial industrial fermentation
The first approach entails the production of LINK Proteins™️ through microbial industrial fermentation, followed by a wet-spinning process to yield LINK Silk™️ Fiber. This fiber exhibits a gloss akin to conventional silk, surpassing it in tensile strength by a factor of 1.7 and displaying a one-fold improvement in extensibility compared to traditional silk. Notably, LINK SPIDER is currently collaborating with prominent international sportswear brands with this fiber.
2/Gene-edited silkworms produce spider silk protein spinning thread-LINK Silk™
The second methodology involves the transgenic modification of silkworms, resulting in the generation of spider silk with unadulterated full-length sequences. This particular fiber exhibits superior properties when compared to Kevlar fiber, showcasing enhanced elasticity. Furthermore, it surpasses nylon fiber in terms of strength and resilience, outperforming other synthetic fibers in overall performance. In addition, it boasts a lighter weight, greater softness and skin-friendliness. Importantly, this fiber is biodegradable at competitive cost.
Application areas
LINK Silk™ Fiber finds applications in a multitude of scenarios beyond textiles. Due to its high toughness and lightweight nature, it is also utilized in aerospace composite materials, gliders, and drones. It has now made inroads into military applications, medical research, electronic product development, and various specialized fiber-use cases in outdoor adventures.
